Follow the Dark Wanderer across Sanctuary, build your character and turn each pile of loot into a new possibility. Blizzard North’s 2000 action RPG makes every trip out of town feel like the start of something bigger.
One drop can change the whole plan. Lord of Destruction adds the Assassin and Druid to the original five classes; runes and character builds keep giving you reasons to experiment.
Diablo II moves between towns, dangerous regions and tougher encounters. Amazon, Barbarian, Necromancer, Paladin and Sorceress offer different styles; Lord of Destruction adds Assassin and Druid. The real story is how your character grows through the choices you make.
You do not need an encyclopedia to return. Here is a small, practical plan for your first session.
01
Find your character’s rhythm
Melee, spells or ranged attacks? Pick a style you enjoy for your first character. Learn how a few core skills work together before trying to do everything at once.
Every drop is a possibility, but not every item suits your character. Look beyond damage numbers. Consider resistances and what you need to survive the next encounter.
Check potions, equipment and inventory before moving on. Note the character decisions in channel episodes, then compare them with your own experiments.
