Transfer hunt: search for a role, not a name
Midnight, a coffee and a very long list of candidates. Will you sign the next name for fame or for the role your squad is missing? Player & Staff Search is where the shortlist starts; the rest is your scouting.

First find the missing role
You opened the squad: the left wing is full, the striker is sorted, but there is no holding midfielder. That is when search makes sense: type the role before you type a name. On the Player & Staff Search screen narrow the age, position and attribute filters, and the list shrinks from hundreds of candidates to a few serious names.

You came for one signing; the shortlist has other ambitions. Those who start with “just one signing” sometimes end the season with three trophies.

Three filters, one shortlist. Setting filters correctly is harder than writing “just milk” on a shopping list and walking into the supermarket.
Look at the free ones: expiring contracts
The Expiring filter is where the next free-transfer hunt begins. Players out of contract are easy to overlook, yet sometimes the best bargain is the one with no signing fee.

Send a scout
In scout assignments, answer different needs with Next Opposition, Youth Players or Region. A scout's report says more than a name.

Some names still deserve a closer look. Age is only a number; the contract is a little more serious.
Compare, then decide
On Osimhen's profile choose Compare Players → Set as 1st player in comparison; choose Deniz Gül as the second player. Compare two chosen players puts attributes side by side. Colours support your decision, but think about the budget and the role he will play too.

Count how many clicks separate a dream signing from your shortlist: two, three? Open the Messi profile and, by the third, a strange smile appears anyway.
- Write down which role is missing.
- Narrow the filters in Player & Staff Search.
- Use Expiring to find free candidates.
- Send a scout.
- Cut the shortlist in half with Compare Players.
